International Recruitment

Overview

The fact that the adult Social Care sector is facing unprecedented challenges in workforce supply and demand is well documented. This implies that the high staff vacancy rate can impact the ability of care providers to deliver care and support. If more of these posts were filled, providers would be able to deliver support to more people and maintain higher ratios of staff to people receiving care.

Prestige Careplus Limited aims to partner with Health and Social Care providers to alleviate the staffing shortages encountered in the Health and Social Care sector in the United Kingdom. Whether you provide residential, nursing or home care for adults or the elderly, we can partner with you to facilitate recruitment of carefully selected, suitable, vetted and properly prepared Social and Healthcare personnel ready for work and live in the United Kingdom.

If you’re looking to bridge perennial staff shortages within your organisation, then international healthcare recruitment may be an ideal option for you. Prestige Careplus Limited can partner with you and help you fill chronic vacancies, stay ahead of retirements, and increase supply of healthcare professionals within your organisation.

Prestige Careplus Limited process includes the following:

Our approach is tailored to you: what you need, where you operate and most importantly, who you care for. That means the process of working with us is specific to client’s service provision needs depending on whether you just want to fill roles or you are already an approved UKVI sponsor.

Once you have decided to proceed, we partner with you to select a number of candidate profiles for you to consider based on your criteria. From these profiles you select candidates you would like to meet. This could be an informal chat or a more formal interview. We check all candidates before we make any introductions to you closely discussing and evaluating their experiences and expertise, checking their qualifications and experience. Additionally, we undertake rigorous criminal background checks from the countries they are domiciled.

Once you have settled on the right candidate, you make a job offer. All job offers are subject to candidates achieving the necessary level of English and any other entry clearance requirements. Once your offer is accepted and any other requirements are satisfied, the process of preparing your new employees to relocate begins. We work closely with your team to deal with the immigration formalities and when entry clearance is in place, book travel and do all we can to help prepare your new employee to settle into life in the UK an receive a warm welcome on their arrival.

What Skills Does the United Kingdom Need?

There is a significant shortage of nurses and carers in the UK, which cannot be addressed in the short term by training new people. Having tried to fulfil this need unsuccessfully from Europe, the UK have appreciated that the only way forward is recruitment of healthcare professionals from countries outside the European Union. This means that from 01/01/21, EU workers require Work Permits in the same way as non-EU workers do including doing and IELTS test. The Health and Social Care sector is therefore looking for suitable, motivated and hard working qualified nurses and senior carers with a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 (International English Language Testing System) overall in all four subjects-speaking, reading, listening and writing, or four C’s in the OET (Occupational English Test). The good news is that since 04/03/21 senior carers as well as nurses who have the right background and training can now be admitted to the UK and can upgrade their skills once in the UK if required.

The UK government issues all licences to sponsor workers from overseas and issues all work visas.

What is Involved in Sponsoring Overseas Candidates for the Employer?

The first step in sponsoring overseas healthcare staff is to apply for a Sponsorship License from the UK government. The process is open to eligible CQC registered healthcare providers. Most of the process is concerned with identifying and verifying you as a company, and ensuring you have a good reason to need the licence. Your recruit will need to fill a position in a ‘shortage occupation’ to be awarded a visa. You should refer to the gov.uk website for a list of eligible occupations and their minimum salary requirements.
